Mission Statement

Our mandate is to invite people to an amazing new way of living under the leadership of Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of God. We strive to equip people to be loving, effective and fruitful in order to change what is wrong in the world.

Our Biblical Motivation

1. Matt.4:23

Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. 

Like Jesus we need to teach, preach and heal the sick. Our mission is to do all three (instruct, proclaim and demonstrate).

2. Matt.28:18-20

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go (in your going) and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Firstly, we need to look at the context of this command: Jesus gave this to a team of followers whom He trained for several years. It started with the word “Come” and now transitions to the word “Go”. Every believer needs to be a disciple, and every believer’s mission is to go into the world.

Secondly, our mission is to disciple nations, not merely “evangelize” them. This process of making disciples needs to be an ongoing process.

Thirdly, the mandate of the Church is to accomplish the purpose Jesus had for the Church, not merely to perpetuate human traditions of “church”.

3. Mar.16:15-18

And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.  Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.  These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”

Jesus told His disciples to go into “all the world”. We are told to influence every area that affects people (family, business, education, art & entertainment, government, science and social issues, sports, ). We are not told to live in isolation from the world (Jesus associated with all kinds of people in their respective settings). We have to infiltrate, influence and change the world (its people and systems) through the power of the Good News. The Church is called to demonstrate God’s miraculous power and love. Just like Jesus, we have to bring about change in the power of the Holy Spirit through a life yielded to God.

4. Col.3:10

God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord.

The purpose of the Church was and is to visibly display the nature, work and will of God on earth.

5. Eph.1:22-23

God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.

The Church is the “body” of the “present” Christ; and so Christ continues His earthly ministry through His followers.

Our mission is to establish Destiny International in three areas: locally in Southern California, nationally in the United States, and internationally as God opens the doors.
